Getting Started

  • A cozy, speakeasy-style community space in Fort Mitchell where you can cowork, meet, host, and connect in a small intimate setting.

  • Pretty much everyone, but to name a few … remote workers, neighbors, small teams, community groups, company strategy sessions, off-site meetings, leadership discussions and anyone who needs a welcoming place to work or gather.

  • The space consists of a large open-area, two small offices, and an accommodating conference room. You access the facility from the rear-exterior of the building, through a private, key-pad entry. There are two accessible bathrooms through the front of the facility that are shared with the adjacent Better Blend.

  • Co-Working: 5am – 5pm / M-F

    Weekday Events: 5am – 5pm / M-F

    Weekday Social Events: 6pm – 3am / M-F

    Weekend Events: All-day / Sat-Sun

  • Reservations are recommended and you can book now here.

    Walk-ins welcome when space allows. Events are by reservation only.

    Ultimately we like to keep The Fort at little to ‘no cost’ as possible. Paid patrons are necessary when privacy and the whole space is desired for their use case.

Coworking

  • Yes — coworking is free to use. Donations are appreciated but not required.

    The operating cost to “keep the lights on” at The Fort are of course not free. So, we politely ask that folks chip-in, a fair amount, for their use case and frequency of booking. This way, The Fort stays affordable for everyone.

    We believe in giving people access to a place to meet, work, and spend time together matters for our community.

  • Coffee/water/assorted beverages, reliable Wi-Fi + ethernet, external monitors + docking, printer + notepads/pens, and TVs for presentations.

  • Yes — paid professional and social events take precedents over free users. Because of this we recommend booking free office space on Sunday a week prior to your need.

    In the rare event that a paying customer wants to overlap your booked time, we will notify you well in advance.

  • Yes —Don’s Study and The Streets Bureau are individual offices bookable for solo focus vs meetings.

  • Reliable Wi-Fi plus ethernet connections. The username and password are shared upon arrival.

  • Yes — just keep the volume reasonable and use a private room for longer/louder calls.

  • No — Due to the free nature of The Fort, access to the space is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

    *The only way to ensure guaranteed access to the space is by hosting an event.

  • There are two bathrooms, just outside the front entrance, that are shared with the adjacent Better Blend. There is no access to a kitchen. There is a small fridge to hold beverages or lunch. Limited storage is available upon request.

Meetings

    For Small group meetings you can book the conference room in 2 hour blocks. For private access, we recommend booking the entire facility in 4 hours blocks.

  • Yes’ish —As long as you’ve booked the needed space and the group is within the space capacity.

  • Entire Space: 30-35 max

  • Yes — multiple TVs are available for presentations. We also have multiple connection cords and docking stations support HDMI/USB-C and external monitors.

  • Reliable Wi-Fi plus ethernet connections. The username and password are shared upon arrival.

  • Yep — two to be exact.

  • We got you — We have a free color printer/scanner that prints 8.5” X 11” sheets, and is WiFi accessible.

  • There are two bathrooms, just outside the front entrance, that are shared with the adjacent Better Blend. There is no access to a kitchen. There is a small fridge to hold beverages or lunch for up to 6 people. Limited storage is available upon request.

Events

  • Small gatherings, team meetings, celebrations, workshops/classes, poker nights, private get-togethers… really, the list is endless.

  • The entire Space can hold up to 30+ people, spread across 4 various-sized rooms.

  • Basic setup, seating/tables arranged for your need, TVs, Wi-Fi, limited beverages, and exclusive key-pad access.

  • A minimum of 4 hours, up-to a full day.

  • While we provide basic room prep and post-event cleaning, we do not provide event-specific decorating, A/V needs, room arrangement, and breakdown.

    We do offer a $50 advanced setup fee for extensive furniture moving or removal and decorating.

  • Yes — but please define capacity, staffing, or security requirements in advance of booking: meet@thefortnky.com

  • Depends — the two main variables are attendee capacity, if the event is open to the public, and if the event itself is for monetary gain. Reach out to learn more: meet@thefortnky.com

  • Sure — as long as you return the room to its state, when you arrived.

  • Absolutely — However, limitations include:

    · Nailing anything to walls

    · Heavy-duty tapes

    · Confetti

    · Open flames

    · Altering of established decor and artifacts

  • Yes’ish — If the audio is at a moderate level, you are in the clear. If you plan on your party getting lit, from the windows-to-the-wall, then this can only happen between 8pm – 3am.

    The Fort has a Sonos surround sound system that is accessible once connected to WiFi.

  • While The Fort is responsible for general clean-up, we ask that you return the facility to as clean as the space was upon arrival.

Food & Beverage

  • Yep — just keep it tidy and be considerate of the next guest.

  • We offer free coffee, water and assorted beverages to all Fort patrons. However, these are not intended to accommodate events or groups over four people and we strongly recommend bringing provisions, accordingly.

  • No — all food temperatures should be pre-planned for no access to a standard kitchen. Coolers are allowed, as well as limited access to the mini-fridge in the common area. No outside food heating sources are allowed.

  • Absolutely — and you are welcome to have caterers gain access for setup/break down. if you need local recommendations of Fort Mitchell fair, please feel free to reach out: meet@thefortnky.com

  • Yes — however, The Fort cannot provide alcohol nor can you sell alcohol as part of proceeds from an event.

Booking, Payment, & Cancellations

  • Amazing! You will receive some correspondence, via email, from us soon. As the date of your booking nears, you will also receive a text message with the access code and WiFi password.

  • Coworking offices or use of the common area can only be booked a week in advance, starting every Sunday evening.

    We recommend booking events 4–8 weeks in advance.

  • No — within our booking platform you are free to pay in full or pay closer to your event date.

  • You have exactly 7 days prior to your event to cancel, at no charge. You will receive a 80% refund within 6-2 days prior, and a 50% refund if canceled the day prior.

  • We take all major credit cards, plus PayPal through our booking platform. If you need to pay via a different method, please reach out to meet@thefortnky.com

  • No — rental of event spaces is not taxed by the state, county, or city of Fort Mitchell.
